An individual residing in Madison, Wisconsin hired Timberline Tax Group when his Social Security income began to be garnished by the IRS. The Enrolled Agent assigned to the case worked with taxpayer to complete an informal financial statement to prove a financial hardship was present. After negotiating with the assigned Revenue Officer, the garnishment was release and a Currently Not-Collectible status was established on the account. This prevented any wage garnishments in the future.
