A non-profit in Wichita Falls, TX hired Timberline Tax Group to negotiate a reasonable Installment Agreement and to submit a Penalty Abatement Request in an effort to reduce their total overall liability. The Associate immediately initiated a hold on enforcement, and subsequently negotiated an Installment Agreement. Once this resolution was in place, a Penalty Abatement Request was submitted on behalf of the client. Based on the argument that the late filing and late payments were due to circumstances beyond the client’s control, approval for one of the tax periods has been granted, resulting in removal of $317.50 from the client’s balance.
