A small plastics manufacturing company in Fremont, Ohio hired Timberline Tax Group in late December 2017 to research their unemployment tax account with the State of Ohio via the Department of Job & Family Services, as well as their withholding tax account via the Attorney General’s office. The Associate worked diligently to assure they were protected from any enforced collection by the state and both of the accounts were ultimately resolved via Offers in Compromise. On February 6, 2018 the unemployment account was settled for a total of $58,000, rather than the original $66,684.71, a savings of $8,684.71. The withholding account settlement was formally proposed in January of 2018 but was not determined until June 12, 2018. The withholding account was settled for a total of $66,375.71, rather than the original $76,012.21, a savings of $9,636.50. The total savings negotiated on behalf of this client was $18,321.21.
