A car repair company in Massachusetts hired Timberline Tax Group to help protect the business from potential levies on their accounts and provide a resolution to the tax liability. The Associate assigned to the case immediately contacted the assigned Revenue Officer to discuss the account. A levy had been issued against the taxpayer’s credit card merchant account, so the Associate immediately issued a request for release of levy and Partial Pay Installment Agreement proposal. After numerous discussions and hours of research with the Revenue Officer, credit card processor, and taxpayer, it was determined that the credit card processor was indeed holding funds from a levy that the Revenue Officer issued. The Associate negotiated a release of the levy and the taxpayer received levy proceeds deposited into his bank account in the amount of approximately $15,000.
